A compost accelerator containing organic nutrients, Compost Maker speeds up the breakdown of organic garden and household material which may otherwise degrade slowly.Compost Maker:Re-cycles grass cuttings, weeds, leaves, vegetable matter, egg shells and shredded woody materialsProduces a rich, dark compostSpecially formulated to speed up the composting processThe effectiveness of Compost Maker depends on the time of year and materials being composted. As it accelerates the decomposition process, in summer this may take as little as six weeks.During winter, or using tougher plant materials, the same process could take six months or more.When finished the compost will be crumbly, ideal for use around the garden and helping to raise the soil’s organic content. The resulting compost will also aid a soil’s workability and natural fertility.Compost Maker can be used on open heaps, compost bins and in plastic sacks.How to use:NOTE: 60 g (about 2 oz) is approximately equal to one handful.Open Compost HeapsBuild a circular or rectangular heap 1 metre (3 feet) wide in the normal fashion. Add a 15 cm (6 inch) layer of material to be composted (grass cuttings, weeds, soft hedge clippings, etc) then sprinkle on 60 g (approximately 2 oz) of Vitax Compost Maker. Continue to build the heap adding further Compost Maker for each 15 cm layer of compost material. While open heaps will compost successfully, Vitax Compost Maker works best if the heap is kept warm and moist by covering the top with a polythene sheet.Compost Bins and Plastic SacksFill the compost bin or plastic sack with the material to be composted mixing in 120 g (4 oz) of Vitax Compost Maker whilst filling.
